For the love of Beef

So why do I do what I do? Because it’s my dream and my passion. It’s so much more than I could ever put into words. Our beef herd was my dream and now it’s a dream come true. It’s what most call a hobby, it is a small herd. Every cow and calf has a place in my heart. I can tell you every one of their stories, how long they have been here, who their babies are, who the sires are and how each baby arrived. This herd is my herd and my herd has my heart.

How we grow our beef
We run a Cow calf operation, all our beef are born and raised here. Our babies stay on mom until they are 6 months old. We finish our steer with grass, hay and grain. Typical they finish around 12-15 months old. Our beef is tender and is nicely marbled.

The process
The scheduled dates above are all for C-Roy's processing in Yale Michigan. If we book any more appointments, it will be from one of their cancelations lists that we are on. Each butcher shop has their own unique way of handling things. A quick visit to their website or a phone call will help you understand more about the process. It's important for you to understand we raise and sell you a share of a live animal.  All concerns or questions about butchering should be addressed with the butcher. Questions to consider asking are as follows...
1. Hanging weight vs packaged weight.
2. How your cut sheet will impact your package weight.
3. Packaging options
4. Pick up process and what you need to bring with you.
5. What grade of meat did our beef score

Let's get started
First how much suits your needs and fits your budget? All weights are an estimate on an average finished steer.
WHOLE 800 pounds (640 pounds in cuts)
HALF 400 pounds (320 pounds in cuts)
QUARTER 200 pounds (160 pounds in cuts)

Send us your request by email. We will get back with you as soon as possible with what we have available and a date your beef will be harvested. Next you will send in your deposit. Once the beef has been harvested, the butcher will call you with the hanging weight and ask for your cut sheet preferences. At that point you will send us the remainder of your balance. Once the meat is cut and packaged the butcher will call you. You will then pay the butcher fee upon picking up your meat.
I can also deliver your meat to you, or I can meet you somewhere in between. Whatever helps make this experience a convenient great experience for you!
